The closer the moment gets, the more stiff and anxious Tieria becomes, Lockon notes, as he leads the purple-haired Meister by the hand to the middle of the dance floor. He can read each agitated glance, the stiffness of Tieria’s posture, the set of his jaw as easily as if the Virtue pilot was speaking out loud. What if I stumble? What if I forget my steps? What if I can’t execute this perfectly? Everyone will be watching.
Lockon smiles fondly at his new husband, bending down slightly to press his lips to Tieria’s ear as he whispers, “It’s alright. Don’t worry about them. You’re dancing with me, and all I care about is that you’re here, now, with me. None of the other things matter.”
Then he takes one of Tieria’s hands in his, guides the other to his shoulder and finally places his free hand against the small of the other Meister’s back, pressing it there gently but affectionately. “I love you”, he whispers hotly into the fine, silky purple hair above Tieria’s ear, relishing the feeling of a happy shiver running along the Virtue pilot’s spine under his fingers at the words – and then the first notes of the waltz are pouring into the room, and Tieria’s fingers curl tightly against his shoulder and in his hand as Lockon carefully leads them in their first dance.
